‘In my opinion, it is difficult for players to get their best wages at 35. While the best time for a footballer is between 26 and 32. It is strange for clubs to spend money on older players if they don’t have the money.’

‘Every player has complicated moments. I think he is still a great player, a leader in the dressing room, as they told me at Barcelona.’

‘When you don’t play well, you can easily be criticised. But he is still important for Barca and his national team.’

‘The injury has affected his level in the last two or three months. Of course, I don’t think he’s 100 per cent ready to play against PSG and Real Madrid in the last games of the season. But he needs time to get back to his best.’
